10 really easy homemade Halloween decorations

You can have a homemade bat cave in minutes. All you need is black card paper, wool or clear twine and sellotape. Simply cut different bat shapes out of the paper and secure them to the black wool. Hang the length of wool across your room. Easy. 

 

You can have a really impressive front entrance with these spooky birds flying past. Cut flying bird shapes out of black card paper and secure them to your front door. They are really simple yet very effective.

This is a great way to recycle any 2 litre milk bottles you may have lying around. Simply clean the bottle, cut a hole in the back and then pop in fairy lights. Line them up outside the front of your house for a really frightening look.

Using spare black bin bags you can create a spooky spider cave. Simply cut a web shape out of the black bin bag and hang them up around your house. Vary the sizes of your spider web and overlap them to make it look like a spider cave.

These are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon with your little one. All you need are a few paper plates, pipe cleaners and some string. Let your child get creative and paint the plates in different colours. Secure the pipe cleaners to the plates using sellotape, punch a hole through the top and tie the string through it.

These require a little bit more time but are still really easy to make. All you need is black tulle, pipe cleaners and string. Cut two circles out of cardboard, put one on top of the other and wrap the tulle around them. Cut along the edge of the material to make a pom-pom shape. Before removing the cardboard from your tulle put your pipe cleaners through the centre. Wrap your string between your 2 cardboard rings and tie tight, leave enough so you can hang the spiders up.  Bend the pipe cleaners to look like legs.

These really cute mummies are so quick to make. Simply cover an empty toilet roll in white tissue paper, the messier the better. Secure with a piece of selloape and draw on spooky eyes.

These bag faces are really sweet and are a great non scary decoration.  Simply get a few brown paper bags, cut off the handle and draw scary faces on them. On Halloween night why not fill them with sweets and hand them out to trick-or-treaters.
