New Year’s Eve is all about thinking of resolutions that you are going to at least try and aim for in the next 12 months. And while it’s very easy to come up with them, the hardest part is actually sticking to it.

So to give you a helping hand, this year, why not make a change or work towards a goal that is achievable and you won't struggle to keep.

Spend more time with family
We all lead very busy lives with little time to spend with our family, but make 2015 different. Things like getting up earlier in the morning for a family breakfast, turning off the TV in the evening or even preparing dinner together are great ways to squeeze in extra time together.

Start a new hobby
The main reason mums don’t pick up a new hobby is because of a lack of time or money, but it doesn’t need to be expensive or timely. Why not pick up running in the evening, start knitting, painting or even a book club – there are plenty of things you can do that don't require too much time or money.

Cut down on your phone usage
This one might be a little trickier, but after two or three days of feeling like you are missing a limb, it'll get easier. Start by turning off your phone in the evenings or putting it out of your sight by leaving it in another room. You will feel relaxed and more focused without it.

Eat better
Eating better doesn’t need to cost a fortune, simply swap your evening biscuits for carrot sticks, invest in a juicer, enjoy one extra piece of fruit each day and limit your caffeine and sugar consumption.

Be more organised
This is definitely everyone’s resolution – the goal of being organised. The easiest way to do this is write everything down, create to-do lists and invest in a good diary and carry it around wherever you go.

Watch less TV
This year, make the effort to switch off your TV a lot more. Instead of the usual Friday night family movie why not play board games and avoid turning on the telly as soon as you go into the living room. This will also help increase your family time.
