Reading is such an important part of growing up, and this little bookworm is putting us all to shame.

Four-year-old Caleb Green from Chicago sat down on Saturday night and read 100 books, and we can't get over how cute he is.

When he told told his dad that he wanted to read 100 books in one night, he was sceptical.

Speaking to CNN, his dad, Sylus Green said that it was his initial reaction to discourage the boy:

“I was like, ‘100, son? That's a lot of books.’ So at first, I had the gut reaction to talk him down a little bit but he was like, ‘No, I want to read 100.’”

And read he did! After realising that they were eight books short of 100, friends stepped in to help Caleb achieve his goal.

The parents livestreamed the boy's feat on Facebook live which was viewed 2,000 times.

After nine hours, two breaks, Caleb would break out in dance after every tenth book.

“I like to read and I want to read some more like my sister,” Caleb said about his older sister, who appears in the video to read and dance with him.

This father said that Caleb's determination was an inspiration to him:

“I learned to just dream bigger and I am going to set unrealistic goals for myself this coming year and I’m going to be inspired by Caleb to not quit on him and just push through it.”

As for the future for the little bookworm? He wants to be a Ninja Turtle, among other things:

“I want to be a basketball player. When I am 22 I want to be an astronaut and when I’m 23 I want to be a Ninja Turtle!”

We have no doubt that this kid is going to do big things!
