A big congratulations are in order for a certain cartoon character.
Mr. Ratburn of PBS Kids show Arthur has come out as gay and gotten married.
The elementary school educator revealed this news in the Season 22 premiere that aired this week.
The same-sex wedding came after titular character Arthur and his friends investigated Ratburn’s home life, first believing that he had wed a bossy woman (voiced by Glee star Jane Lynch) .
However, she turned out to be his sister, who turned out to be his sister.
The episode was titled “Mr. Ratburn & the Special Someone” didn't explicitly say that the nuptials were between two same-sex characters.

The storyline was received well, with fans taking to social media to praise it.
One said, ''This actually makes me stupid happy...Arthur's always been such a good show.''
