Generally, political conventions aren't terribly exciting.

But one little girl managed to bring a smile to people’s faces at the Republican National Convention earlier this week.

In a video taken by her mum, the tiny tot is seen greeting police officers with a mighty fine fist-bump. Yep, a fist-bump.

According to her mum, the little girl wanted to say thank you to the police for keeping everyone safe.

In light of the recent Dallas shootings, and the regular clashes between the American police force and its African-American community, it's touching to see this little girl so blissfully unaware of the hate that, sadly, some people learn as they grow up.

The video was shown on WSB-TV and later on the channel’s Facebook page, where it’s gone down a storm with heartwarmed commenters.

User Hubert P Davis pretty much sums up the message we got from this fab vid.

“Adults need to start acting like children. Love and respect for all people,” he wrote.

Hear, hear. Check out the adorable vid below (if you look closely towards the end, you'll see another little girl in the background who starts doing the same thing!)

SHARE to spread the word that kids aren’t born hating.
