Warning: this story may very well raise your relationship expectations to unrealistic levels!

Kayla Miller shared a photo of a large bouquet of flowers on her Facebook page recently.

Beneath it was a post explaining that they belonged to her colleague - a woman who had been receiving gifts every holiday and special occasion that she would've shared with her late husband.

Kayla revealed that the gifts had come courtesy of her co-worker's late husband, who pre-ordered each gift so that she wouldn't feel alone on days that would be the hardest to spend apart.

"These flowers were delivered to work today for a lady I worked with," she wrote.

"They are from her husband who passed away two years ago. Every holiday/ birthday since his passing she has been receiving flowers, presents, and jewellery from him."

"Before he passed he lined all of this up for her so she wouldn’t feel alone on those days that would be the hardest to spend apart."

But Kayla wasn't just sharing the post to represent real love. She was also sharing it as a pick-me-up to people struggling in a difficult relationship.

"I am sharing this story not only because it’s amazing and it warms my heart, but to show girls that true love is real. You don’t have to settle for someone because you think no one else will love you."

She continued: "You don’t have to put up with being cheated on or lied to or being talked down to. You are a prize to be won, and there is someone out there that will love you forever and even through the afterlife. I hope this brightens your day and P.S. I Love You.’

So far, the heartwarming post has been viewed a whopping 55,000 times. One moved Facebook user commented: "Amazing and sweet. True Love does exist, and prince charming is just a simple guy who loves, respects and honours the woman he is supposed to be with."

"Don’t settle (trust me, from experience I know – big mistake), do wait for the right one. He is out there and it’s not foolish to hope and believe. I’d rather spend just one year my last year with the right man than a lifetime wasted with the wrong one."

We agree. Life's too short to be with someone who treats you badly.
