Boogie Nights.

Or should I say 'Boobie nights?' Those nights that never seem to end and you wake up in the morning feeling hungover only to realise you've had none of the fun of a night out, you are in fact just so sleep deprived you literally feel hungover! These are what I like to think of as 'Boobie nights' or boogie nights parent style. Yes, as parents we still get to pull all nighters, just not as we knew them. These new 'Boobie nights' usually involve staying up all night in awkward stress positions on the sofa so as not to disturb the little sleep assassin who has kept not only you but your entire family and possibly half the street awake with its crying. Any movement on your part requires stealth manoeuvres that even special forces probably couldn't pull off and as for the toilet, forget it! Breastfeeding mums will know Boobie nights well, the constant sucking of your little limpet may have turned your nipples in to raw meat but in doing so your nipples have become shields of steel which could probably deflect a nuclear missile or tune in to radio frequencies they are now so stretchy and strong! The perks just never end, I know! It probably sounds like I hate being a parent, even after nights like these (and believe me, in my family there are many) I still wouldn't change it but we mothers and parents are not robots, we are human and sometimes our capacity to show endless love and support are pushed to the limit! One thing I'm hoping to achieve through these blog posts are to share those experiences we don't always think others share with a sense of humour. So to all those mummies and daddies who just got through another seemingly endless Boobie night, this one's for you!
