Well this just has to be our favourite story of the week – well it IS about a stag party that tuned into a puppy rescue mission and we ARE only human.
A groom from Michigan in the US was in a cabin the woods with his buddies for his bachelor party, when it was suddenly gate-crashed by a dog.
“We were cooking bacon with the door open. The next thing you know, there’s this dog sitting right at the front door. She wouldn’t come inside, but she sat right there,” Mitchel Craddock told ABC News.
“She was such a sweet dog that once we gained her trust, she was happy to see us, wagging her tail — just a big sweetheart,” he said.
The dog was dehydrated and hungry, so after feeding her and giving her water, the gang noticed that her milk began to flow again. So they figured she must have very recently had puppies.
And they were soon to find out that not only were the puppies recently born, they were nearby in the woods – seven of them in fact!
“We set each pup individually down in front of her, and she nuzzled their faces, and she checked out the pups, and to the person holding them, she gave the look of ‘It’s OK, I trust you,’” said Mitchel.
“We pooled a bunch of money to buy food and beer [at the start of the weekend. After the third day, our beer fund turned into puppy food fund.”
And in the most tear-jerking, sweetest turn of events the mum and all seven puppies were adopted by the groom, his groomsmen and their families – who all live within five miles of each other.
Someone needs to make this story into a film for the love of God!
