It's easy to see why many mums love one-pan dishes. They mean more time for eating and less time washing up, and who doesn't want that?

Kids and adults alike will love this one-pan chicken alfredo recipe. It's got a traditional garlic and cheesy flavoured sauce and works well paired with chicken and penne.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp olive oil

600g diced chicken breast

3 cloves garlic, crushed

1 litre water

1 x 300ml pouring cream

250g penne pasta

2 cups parmesan cheese, grated

2 tbsp chicken stock powder

1/2 cup chopped parsley

Method:

1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a high heat. Cook the chicken until it's golden.

2. Add the garlic into the pan and cook for about a minute.

3. Pour water, cream, pasta and chicken stock powder into the pan. Bring it to the boil.

4. Reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook until the pasta is al dente. Stir regularly so the pasta doesn't stick.

5. Taste and season.

6. Add the freshly grated parmesan to the pan, and stir it through the sauce. Sprinkle the parsley and stir through. Grate some extra parmesan over the top. Et voila!
