Irish actor and father, Colin Farrell has opened up about his son’s disability for the first time.

Colin’s son, James has Angelman Syndrome, which causes both physical and intellectual disabilities.

Angelman Syndrome affects only one-in-25,000 children.

“He understands a lot of magical things. James’ way of processing the world is very peculiar, which is one of the beautiful things about him.”

Farrell said his ten-year-old's special cognitive ability enables him to see the world in a way he doesn’t.

“His cognitive capability is such that he understands a lot of magical and interesting things that I just don’t. When James took his first steps at age four, I nearly broke in half! My ex Kim Bordenave and I share in the smallest victories.”

Colin is also father to his three-year-old son, Alex.
