In the wake of a third attempted child abduction, police in the north-eastern town of Hartlepool have issued another warning to parents concerning the safety of their children.

The latest warning comes after a 10-year-old girl was approached by a man and woman who encouraged her to get into their vehicle on Mowbray Road earlier this month.

According to reports, the child was followed by the car before the man eventually got out of the vehicle and chased the terrified youngster who thankfully managed to escape the horrifying encounter unharmed.

According to a report in The Express, the woman at the centre of the incident is described as white, in her mid-30s, of slim build with shoulder-length ginger hair. She is understood to have been wearing a floral top, leather jacket and leather-style trousers.

The man is described as black, around 40-years-old and of a stocky build. He had a bald head with bits of black hair, slight facial hair and also spoke with a local accent. He is understood to have been wearing a black hooded jumper and jogging bottoms when the incident took place.

While the latest incident which took place on March 16th follows two separate encounters on February 25th and 26th when girls were approached by men in Merlin Way, police are not connecting the latter with the former.
