Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr announced on Twitter yesterday that he and his wife Susan are expecting their second child together, and it’s going to be a little girl: “Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?”
He also wrote on Facebook, “Um. I don't know if it's a ‘man's world’, but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November. Rdj”
This is great news for the couple, who are already parents to two-year-old son Exton, as they have undoubtedly been having a tough time lately after Robert’s 20-year-old son Indio was arrested last month after found to be in possession of cocaine. The star said in a statement that there is a genetic component to addiction, which Indio inherited from him: “Unfortunately there’s a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we’re all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he’s capable of being”.
Robert Downey Jr. kicked his own drug habit years ago, and credits his wife for his recovery: “The old saying is true - behind every good man there's an incredible woman. I owe a huge amount - if not all - of my success to Susan.
“We make a great team, and all that luck I spoke about, that's Susan.”
