If you’ve ever referred to yourself as a ‘chocaholic’, step aside – because criminal mastermind Balwinder Dhaliwal is taking that title, thank you very much!
Dhaliwal, known more commonly in Canadian mob circles as ‘King of Car Thieves’, has made headlines after FINALLY being busted by cops in Toronto – with thousands of dollars’ worth of NUTELLA!
“Yes, I said Nutella,” Detective Sergeant Paul LaSalle of York Police, Toronto told the media, after making the high-profile swoop last Friday.
Apparently, cops had been on to Dhaliwal and 22 others for a long time, in connection with the trafficking of luxury cars, drugs, alcohol and even weapons.
They struck lucky last week when they came upon a warehouse belonging to the gang, and while they weren’t surprised by some of the contents inside, the $30,000 worth of chocolate-hazelnut spread certainly raised eyebrows.
According to the Toronto Star, 137 charges have been handed down to all 23 men connected to the crime syndicate.
Commenting on the investigation, Detective Sergeant LaSalle said: “I’ve never seen an investigation that did spiral in so many directions.”
