According to new research by P&G, as part of their Dance Your Place Clean campaign, British children will receive over £5,000 in pocket money on average for doing odd jobs around the house.
It seems children are earning a weekly wage of £7.70 per week, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but with children as young as three being polled, it's actually quite a lot!
It was revealed that 60% of the parents polled tempt their money-savvy kids with financial benefits if they help out at home, while 44% admit to bribing them with treats.
Interestingly, modern kids earn 54% more pocket money than their parents did at the same age.
But the one that we got a chuckle out of was that 60% of kids have tried to negotiate a better rate from their parents.
Other statistics found from the survey included one that said 87% of parents listen to music while doing the weekly clean, with over 60% of parents breaking into dance as they get their clean-on.
The survey also asked parents what they would typically pay for a specific cleaning job in the home, and the results were very interesting.
