Five-year-old Gracee Nelson had her annual father-daughter school dance approaching, but unfortunately for the young girl, her dad Christopher, was on army duty in Afghanistan.
The dance which was taking place in her school at El Paso, Texas, had a Beauty and the Beast theme.
Young Gracee felt the dance was important, and she was naturally upset her dad wasn’t around to take her.
But her dad had other plans.
Christopher and mum Lanya came up with a plan to surprise Gracee when she arrived at the school.
And it is magical.
Gracee walked down the hallway in her beautiful Belle like costume to be greeted by a real-life Beast!
And the five-year-old did not stop smiling for the entire night: “Her face just lit up she was so happy. I have never seen my daughter that happy,” Lanya said.
When the Beast escorted Gracee into the dance hall, all eyes were focused on her, her mum adding: “All the kids were like, 'Oh my god’!”
Gracee had a daddy-daughter dance she will always remember, and the little girl even got to video call her dad from the dance.
