Our little ones never fail to amaze us, and we have to say, we are in absolute awe of five-year-old India Mackie this week.

India has impressed people in both her local community and online, after becoming one of the top 10 fundraisers for dementia in the UK.

India is participating in Alzheimer’s Research UK’s new campaign, Running Down Dementia, launched to fund vital dementia research.

With upwards of 2,300 fundraisers currently taking part, India is right up there in the top 10, having already raised £523.

As part of the Running Down Dementia campaign, volunteers are being asked to run 100km over the course of this summer, and raise £100 for the charity.

Running under the name ‘The Indian Running Duck’, India has already clocked up 19km.

India’s mum Lisa says she signed her little one up for the campaign as she is ‘so full of energy’, but there are also emotional ties, with both her own family and in-laws touched by dementia.

An excited India commented this week: “I've just started running with my dad, and it's even more fun when my friends do the parkrun too. I always feel good at the end, especially with an ice cream!”

Well done to India and all those taking part in this wonderful campaign.
