Holidays are great, it’s the organising and getting stuff ready that’s not so great. Thankfully, when it comes to packing, there are things you can do to make it less stressful.

Here are five tips you need to keep in mind when packing the suitcase for the whole family.

Checklist
Write a list of what you need for each and every family member. This way you won’t forget anything or throw stuff in as a ‘just in case’

Be ruthless
You need to be ruthless. Pack enough clothes for each day and leave it at that. Don’t throw in that extra pair of flips as a ‘precaution’ - you don’t need them.

Roll things
Don’t fold your items, roll them tightly to give you more room in your bag. It will also keep the creases out.

Start with the large items
Start by packing your large items in first working down to your smallest ones. This way you are guaranteed to use up all available space.

Use all pockets
Make sure you use all available pockets in the suitcase. The section at the front is good for flat items and accessories.
