Remember the 1998 movie Beaches? Sure you do. It’s the one that had you sobbing for about six hours after the credits rolled.
The one you promised yourself you would NEVER watch again because the last time you watched it you were still sobbing six hours after the credits rolled.
The one that despite your better judgement you actually watched again and again over the years because it’s just so damn good?
And of course the iconic scene is where it all begins. Where confident, mouthy CC meets demure Hillary for the first time. Where their friendship is cemented for like, ever.
So we squealed a little when we saw a clip of the child actors who played those roles, Mayim Bialik (who played CC, the younger version of Bette Midler’s character) and Marcie Leeds (who played Hillary, Barbara Hershey’s character), take them on once more, 28 years later, to recreate that scene.
Fun fact: Mayim went on to play Blossom and now stars as Amy Farrah Fowler on the Big Bang Theory, while Marcie eschewed fame to become a surgeon with her own practice.
