Embrace the challenge: Sam Claflin calls for more paternity leave for dads

Becoming a parent is just as exciting and terrifying if you're a woman or a man.

It's scary but a fantastic and the need is just as strong to bond with this little thing that you have created.

Which is why actor Sam Claflin is making it known that men need more time to enjoy their newborn.

The 32-year-old is dad to three-year-old son Pip and 15-month-old daughter Margot, with his wife Laura Haddock.

He voiced his opinion when he appeared The Chris Evans Breakfast Radio Show on Virgin.

He said, ''I was a new dad and was trying to chase around gangsters in London.''

When asked what was more challenging, he said it was the former.

He revealed, ''It’s definitely a trying time being a new father and trying to go back to work. I definitely feel, and here I am saying this on air, I feel like men should get more paternity leave.''

He also opened up about how much he loves fatherhood.

He said, ''I love being a father, I love having two, I genuinely embrace the challenge.''

He continued, ''I think every guy should be as hands-on as much as they can be. I think that’s what’s wonderful about our society as it is now, I feel men are willing and wanting to be more involved than they used to be.''

We agree wholeheartedly with him and love that he is advocating for longer paternity leave.
