Emotions and challenges: Izzy Judds new podcast about fertility is important

Izzy Judd has always been candid about her fertility struggles.

The 34-year-old, who is married to McFly drummer Harry Judd, first experienced problems with conceiving naturally when she started trying for her first child a few years ago.

The couple went through a miscarriage after their wedding and decided to try IVF.

They then welcomed their 'miracle baby' Lola Rose Emma, after two rounds of the treatment, and she is now two-years-old.

PODCAST: LETS TALK FERTILITY I know all too well the emotions and challenges you experience when going through fertility issues and how lonely it can feel. I continue to be passionate about keeping the conversations going and so decided to start a podcast. Throughout the series I will be exploring other people’s paths to parenthood and talking with medical and holistic experts. I hope my podcast will provide a fully informed and emotionally supportive space, as well an introduction to a community whose support I have found to be invaluable. Izzy then fell pregnant naturally with their second child, a son Kit, who was born in August 2017.

The violinist has always spoken openly about how she dealt with her issues conceiving and has now decided to explore the world of fertility in a new podcast series.

She took to Instagram to announce the news with a video.

She captioned it, ''I know all too well the emotions and challenges you experience when going through fertility issues and how lonely it can feel. I continue to be passionate about keeping the conversations going and so decided to start a podcast.''

She continued, ''Throughout the series, I will be exploring other people’s paths to parenthood and talking with medical and holistic experts. I hope my podcast will provide a fully informed and emotionally supportive space, as well an introduction to a community whose support I have found to be invaluable.''

The response has been positive on social media, with Izzy receiving a lot of support for opening up about the topic.

One person wrote, ''This is fantastic Izzy. After our own struggles I feel like I want to help others so much but no idea how. Love that you are doing this.''

Another said, ''I will definitely be listening to this. Our IVF journey is just beginning. So far it's been a very lonely journey! Thank you xx.''

Experiencing issues with fertility and embarking on the IVF journey can be a worrying, daunting, exciting and terrifying time.

If podcasts like Izzy's with first-hand accounts of what she went through can help other women and other families, then that is a fantastic thing.

Well done Izzy - we'll definitely be tuning in to the podcast.
