Police, who have been searching for missing 15-year-old girl, Paige Doherty since the weekend, have revealed that a body has been found in a wooded area of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
According to Sky News, police in Scotland have released a statement pertaining to the discovery and confirmed that formal identification has yet to take place.
"A post-mortem is due to take place to establish the exact cause of death but at this time police are treating the death as unexplained," it read. "Inquiries are continuing."
It is understood that Paige, who was making her way to her part-time hairdressing job in Kirkintilloch on Saturday morning, walked from a friend's house in Angus Street in the Whitecrook area of Clydebank in order to board a bus to Kirkintilloch.
The alarm was raised after the 15-year-old failed to turn up for work, with friends and family immediately launching a missing person's appeal.
Paige, who was described as 4ft 8in in height, of slim build, with long dark hair, was last seen wearing a dark jacket, jeans and white Nike trainers in Clydebank,
