Australian actress Tessa James has announced today that she will soon be starting chemotherapy, after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at just 23 year's old.
Tessa is best known for her three year role on Australian soap Home and Away, playing Nicole Franklin.
She left the soap three years ago to move to California and pursue film acting. She married professional rugby player Nate Myles in 2012 in a secret ceremony.
The couple released an official statement today about Tessa's illness.
“Former Home and Away actor, Tessa James today announced she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” the statement said.
“She has returned home to the Gold Coast to be with her husband, Gold Coast Titans Co-captain, Nate Myles”.
“Tessa will be undergoing chemotherapy over the next few months. Tessa and Nate would like to thank all for their well wishes and would ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
