- Have your eyes examined annually. If you have an eye condition like presbyopia then you will need to get your eyes tested more regularly to help maintain your optimum eyesight.
- Consider wearing special eyewear. If you find yourself more prone to glare then you should consider wearing glasses with anti-reflective coatings. Your optician will be able to advise if this is a suitable option for you.
- Reduce your speed when driving at night. As we age our pupils get smaller and don’t dilate as well in the dark. As a result, much less ambient light reaches your eye. You should drive slowly at night to compensate for this vision loss.
- Get the best care for age related disease. If you have diabetes then you should get your eyes examined at least once a year and closely monitor your doctor’s recommendations to reduce the risk of diabetic retinopathy.
