Kamiyah Mobley, the teen who was snatched at birth, has defended her abductor in her first interview since discovering her true identity.

The 18-year-old was taken from hospital just eight hours after birth by Gloria Williams, who raised her as Alexis Manigo.

After approaching authorities with ‘an inclination’ that she had been kidnapped, Kamiyah was reunited with biological parents Shanara Mobley and Craig Aiken last week.

Gloria Williams, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with kidnap.

In her very first interview, with Good Morning America, Kamiyah said she forgives her ‘mother', Gloria, for all that happened.

“From that one mistake, I was given the best life. I had everything I ever needed, wanted. I had love, especially,” she said.

“I understand that what she did was wrong, but just don’t lock her up and throw away the key…She loved me for 18 years. She cared for me for 18 years,” she insisted.

Police have not revealed how or when Kamiyah found out that she had been kidnapped at birth, and the teen has reportedly declined to share the details, out of a need to protect Ms Williams.
