They say that women are the best at multi-tasking, but one Australian man deserves a medal for his performance when his wife went into labour this week.

James Gibbs has made headlines around the world, after it emerged that he steered his car with one hand and supported his baby’s head as it emerged from his wife’s body with the other!

These are the incredible details of the birth of James' and wife Maia Guigaouri’s son, Mikhail, who made quite a dramatic entrance into the world yesterday.

According to local media reports, Maia was five days overdue when she went into labour at 8am on Thursday morning. However, with her labour progressing quickly as her husband drove her to hospital – and the traffic slowing them down – the mum-to-be knew that her baby was going to arrive in that car.

By the time the couple reached the hospital, the baby had started crowning, and James used one hand to support the tot’s head as he steered the car into a parking space with the other.

Maia never made it through the hospital doors – she ended up delivering her baby in front of the building. James had to break the birth sac and clean the child’s face in order to help him take his first breath.

Hospital employees rushed to the couple’s aid, erecting curtains around them as they helped them with baby Mikhail, who was born in just 48 minutes.

Both Mum and Baby are said to be in good health.

SHARE to acknowledge this super couple’s amazing work in such dramatic circumstances.
