A painting of man comfortably sitting on the loo with a book while his wife brushes her teeth companionably, sans undercrackers.
Okay, it may not sound like it’s in the same classic league as Van Gogh’s Sunflowers or Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory (that’s the melting clocks one to you and me) but this depiction of everyday life is being hailed as a bit of a modern masterpiece.
By who? Well the Internet of course.
The image of the painting was shared on imgur with the caption:
“I ask my husband if he realises he has never actually painted us both in the same painting...
So he paints this masterpiece!”
And of course it drew a strong reaction, with many lauding it as the sign of an awesome relationship.
“I think that's the most sincere representation of love there is. No rose-tinted unrealistic fantasy.”
“Totally a representation of an awesome relationship. Able to stand one another while doing bathroom business which does not involve bathing.”
“This is actually an amazing portrait of raw, unfiltered love and family. I would frame this.”
“This is f***** AWESOME. Yay married life! If I could get of me and my wife....this is art I would buy.”
“Sharing the bathroom to sh** and brush is a rite of passage for all good relationships.”
“Eye contact whilst pooping? True love.”
However for some commenters, it was just a little too (poo?) close for comfort:
“I wouldn't want my wife in the same room with me while I'm pooping, I'd want to keep her alive for as long as possible. My poops are deadly.”
“Taking a deuce in front of your wife or vice versa loses the sex appeal between the two of you.”
“Some things you should never mix in life! Taking a sh** and brushing your teeth! Those two smells alone is never a good combination!
