Just imagine... 6 reasons Mothers Day should happen EVERY Sunday

Mother's Day: the one day of the year that is dedicated to us mums.

A day when we get to put our feet up and not feel guilty; a day when dinner is most definitely NOT on us; a day when we get to feel appreciated for all the snotty noses we've wiped and all the lifts we've given.

It's the one Sunday when someone actually says thanks for being you.

And we could do with it coming around more than once a year... every week would be nice. Real nice.

In fact, we've got six reasons WHY it should happen every Sunday.

1. When else do we get breakfast in bed?

Eh, never. Not even when we are dying with the flu or exhausted from being up all night with the baby. Breakfast in bed comes but once a year, and while it may consist of soggy cereal and a glass of milk, at least we didn't have to make it ourselves.

2. Because of the presents

The sweet, glitter-filled cards our kids lovingly made in school, the gorgeous flowers, and the fancy Brooke and Shoals candle they bought with their own money... Yes, you get nice things on your birthday and Christmas, but there's just something EXTRA special about getting them on a (not so) random Sunday morning.

3. Because we get to go OUT for lunch

Not stay at home making a million cheese sandwiches for kids who won't eat them - but actually Outside. The. House. And even wear our 'nice' clothes.

4. It's the only day of the year the kids are extra nice to each other

No fighting over the remote, no hair pulling, no screaming and shouting; no calling Mum to sort out the mess, no stomping, no door slamming... well, at least for the morning anyway.

5. Your little ones go out of their way to fuss over you

Whether it's because they are hoping that by making an extra special effort on Mother's Day they don't have to for the rest of the year... or not - who cares? Having your little one constantly asking if you need more pillows (OK, admittedly this only ever happened once in our life) is exactly what us mums deserve.

6. Because it's a whole day dedicated to us

And sure who doesn't want that?!
