In a real life story echoing one of our favourite ever weepies, The Notebook, a couple died within hours of each other after 58 years of marriage.
George and Ora Lee Rodriguez, from San Antonio, Texas in the US died holding hands just over a months after their 58th wedding anniversary.
According to a report by Fox San Antonio, the both George and Ora Lee developed dementia, and a few months ago George suffered a stroke.
Surrounded by their family couple passed away at home in their sleep, lying in beds beside each other and holding hands.
“I just can't believe something like this would ever happen, you hear this on the movies....like The Notebook,” the couple’s daughter, Corina Martinez told Fox San Antonio
While daughter, Georgia Perez added: “My mother would always say that she was going to take my father or vice versa, and it did happen, we didn't think it would, but it did.”
We hope George and Ora Lee's peaceful death alongside each other is a comfort to their families.
