While officially opening Kensington Leisure Centre in West London, the Duchess of Cambridge  has finally opened up about the gender of her unborn baby.

Talking to Martina McDonagh, a pupil at Jack Tizard School in White City, the expectant mother revealed that she doesn't know the sex of her baby, but admits that “it’s moving all the time”. After speaking to Kate, Martina said: "I told her I hoped it was a girl but she said she doesn't know yet,  She said it was moving around a lot."

The mum-of-one was on her third official engagement that day, after attending a coffee morning and visiting a school and with her baby kicking inside her, we're sure Prince George's mum could have done with a sit down.

However, as a thank you for opening the leisure centre, Kate was presented with a life membership for all her young family by Kensington and Chelsea Council. And not forgetting little George, who was gifted his very own duck-shaped rubber ring and kit bag for his lessons.

While the youngster has already started learning how to swim at the palace’s own pool, we’re sure he will take after his father by attending the centre, which is in the same site where Prince William and Harry learned to swim.

Tim Ahern, Cabinet member for environment and leisure, said: "The Duchess was talking about Prince William learning to swim here and she said she hoped Prince George can come here to learn too. If George goes to school at Wetherby or one of the other local schools, he will almost certainly come here. Wetherby will use it. All the local private and council primary schools. Book all the lessons that we have."

That’s not all that Kate received though. Jokingly Nick Paget-Brown, leader of the council, said that she could contact him if her bins aren’t collected. And if George becomes accustomed to noisy parties in his teenage years all she has to do is call their noise nuisance service and they’ll “have a quiet word”.

We’re sure Kate won’t be needing his assistance but it’s nice to know it’s there – there’s nothing worse than when your bins aren’t collected.
