Laila was hurt when her miltitary officer owner bid her goodbye before she went off to the Middle East.
But luckily, young Anna Masusock took it upon herself to comfort the saddened pooch.
Anna’s family is part of PACT, an organisation that helps find foster families for people’s pets, and it’s clear that Anna has a way with the lonely creatures.
In the video, which has been viewed over 130,000 times, Anna can be seen lying next to the sleepy hound as she sings a sweet rendition of You Are My Sunshine and lovingly cuddles her.
She then gives Laila, who has her paw resting on Anna, a kiss on the nose and even goes in for a hug.
Anna has understandably been melting hearts online with her sweet voice and comforting presence.
