We can’t cope with the gorgeousness of 8-month old miniature pony Honor, who is training to be an NYPD first responder. His extremely important job will be to provide comfort to victims in the aftermath of a traumatic experience or crisis.

 

Honor will be training for the next two years with Gentle Carousel, an all-volunteer non-profit organisation that trains teams of tiny therapy horses inside hospitals, hospice programs, outreach programs and with families who have experienced traumatic events. 

 

 

“From helping children and first responders at Sandy Hook Elementary School to child trafficking victims in Washington D.C. and tornado survivors in Moore, OK,” says Gentle Carousel, “these little horses bring their special love where it is needed most.”

 

Just incredible – the therapeutic powers of animals never ceases to amaze us. 

 

And of course when Honor took to the streets of New York City during his training he caused quite a stir.
