Michael Jackson's son Blanket makes rare public appearance

Michael Jackson's son hit the headlines back in 2002 when his world-famous father dangled him from a window in Berlin, but apart from attending his father's funeral in 2009 and making sporadic appearances at special events,12-year-old Blanket manages to keep a relatively low profile in public.

However it looks like the star's son is becoming a bit more comfortable when it comes to paparazzi if these latest shots are anything to go by.

Managing a bashful smile, Blanket looked relatively unfazed by photographers who snapped him leaving a martial arts class in California yesterday.

Accompanied by a bodyguard, twelve -year-old Blanket wore his long dark hair loose around his shoulders and sported a traditional martial arts uniform.

Blanket seems to be following in his older brother Prince's footsteps as the 17-year-old attends Gracie Academy when he practises Brazilian jiu jitsu.

We can't believe how quickly Blanket has grown!
