We’ve all had moments when the kids are driving us crazy and we dream about what it would be like to give them up for a few days…but to actually try and sell your kids?? You’d have to be mad!
Well that’s exactly what one mother-of-two tried to do in Oklahoma, but she soon discovered that it’s not OK to sell your kids on Facebook.
Misty VanHorn was arrested last weekend for alleged trafficking of minors on Facebook. The 22 year old was selling her 10 month old for $1,000 and also offered her 2 year old for a special “package deal” of $4,000.
Even worse again, VanHorn had an offer! It’s reported she was dealing with a woman in Arkansas who was interested in purchasing at least one of her children.
"Just come to Sallisaw, it's only 30 minutes away and I'll give you all of her stuff and let y'all have her forever for $1,000," read VanHorn's Facebook message to the Arkansas woman.
Police believe that the mother was looking for the $1,000 to bail her boyfriend out of jail. She is now being held on a $40,000 bond.
It was the State’s Department of Human Services that alerted the police to the transaction on Facebook, and they now have the children in their care.
