This woman is a serious inspiration!
Just two days after her beloved husband died, Norma was diagnosed with uterine cancer.
But at the fantastic age of 91, Norma wasn’t about to let it get her down. In fact, she shunned the advice of doctors who told her she’d need surgery, chemo and radiation.
“I’m 90,” she said. “I’m not doing that.”
No, she fancied doing something a bit more fun.
What? Well, she fancied a bit of a road trip actually!
Knowing that her son Tim and his wife Ramie had taken to the road since their retirement, she packed up her stuff and joined them in their RV, ready to spend however long she had left seeing as many sights as possible.
And Tim couldn’t be happier to have her on-board.
Since the death of her husband Leo, Norma suffered deeply so Tim is delighted to see “how alive she is” on the road.
“We see a spark in her eye that we haven’t seen in a very long time,” Ramie told Today. “She’s up for most anything. She’s living life and not in an end-of-life mentality.”
And you only need to take a look at her wild adventures to see that…
Here she is planning her itinerary
...and cooling off on the Fourth of July at Detroit Riverfront
Hiking up Cadillac Mountain Summit
Getting splashed at Maid of the Mist
A spot of culture at the Brandywine Museum of Art
Getting up close and personal at Georgia Aquarium
Taking a dip at Hilton Head Island Beach
Taking to the air in Florida
A few quick refreshments
And back on the road!
