In an effort to encourage her eight-year-old son Tyler and four-year-old daughter Freya to behave well, mum Laura Cole, from Surrey, played a very risky prank.
Laura told her little ones that Santa had been watching them all year and had subsequently decided to put them on the ‘naughty’ list for Christmas, ultimately meaning that they wouldn’t be receiving any presents.
In letters written by “Santa” (aka mum Laura), Tyler and Freya are informed that he is “very disappointed” in them and that they have 13 days to make things right by being on their best behaviour.
Laura went on to film the kids’ reaction as they read the letters, with poor little Tyler and Freya getting very upset over the bombshell.
The move is undoubtedly controversial, but mum Laura has spoken out in defence of her action.
“From the moment they wake up, to the moment they go to sleep they’re fighting with each other, arguing and annoying one another…After reading the letter they were amazing,” she said.
She has confirmed that the children will, of course, be getting presents from Santa this year.
