Katie underwent major surgery to treat her injuries and in a bid to increase awareness of burn victims, the former model appeared in a programme called Katie: My Beautiful Face which documented her treatment and experience.
Having fought so bravely to overcome the horrendous experience, new mum Katie admits that she’s worried about having to tell her baby daughter Belle about the incident.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, the brave mum said: “I don’t want her to feel that I am really different, because I don’t think I am really different anymore. I feel accepted and normal- whatever that is.”
Chatting about her experience of motherhood, Katie reveals that she’s very protective of her ten-month-old daughter, admitting: “I worry about being too anxious and not wanting her to pick up on that. As any mum would, I go out of my way to protect my daughter and I do think I sometimes over-worry things.”
We’re sure little Belle will think her mum is as inspirational as we do.
