She gave birth to her first children, a twin girl and boy just last week, but already proud new mum Princess Charlene of Monaco has given her first interview.

The Princess, who remains in the Princess Grace Hospital with her babies, spoke about the joy of motherhood in an interview with Paris Match.

Describing herself as ‘crazy in love’ with little Gabriella Thérese Marie and Jacques Honoré Rainier, the 36-year-old said that spending time with her little ones so far has been ‘magical’.

“What I can tell you is that they are both very active and very expressive. They are beautiful, adorable, I’m crazy in love with them,” she said.

Opening up on the moment that she heard her children’s first cries, the Princess added: “At first, I was happy…I was obviously a bit overwhelmed with emotion.”

Princess Charlene revealed that she is set to remain in hospital a while longer, also admitting that there is a strong possibility that she, husband Prince Albert and their little bundles of joy will not make it home in time for Christmas.

"It depends on the kids,' said Charlene, adding, "You see, they are the "boss" now."

We are delighted to hear that she is doing well and hope that she will be able to at least some of the festive season at home with her babies.
