Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton shared the wonderful news yesterday that they are expecting a second child – but it turns out they want more children within a few years.

Their first son, George, turned one in July of this year. The Duchess, aged 32, reportedly chose to have a second baby so soon as she hopes to have “at least” three children by the time she is 35.

Friends of Kate say she wants her children to have the same family environment that she had growing up. There are less than five years between Kate and her siblings Pippa and James – Kate and Pippa were born just 20 months apart.

The three are incredibly close and meet up regularly at Kate’s family home in Berkshire.

Kate is still being seen by doctors for her pregnancy-related illness, and she is not expected to attend a planned event tomorrow at the Invictus Games.
