Anyone who has heard her story will know how fiercely presenter and charity campaigner Katie Piper has fought against the cruel bullies and trolls who mocked her over the injuries she sustained in her horrific acid attack in 2008.

While the 31-year-old has since gone on to become an inspirational public figure, the mother-of-one has revealed that certain cruel internet trolls have targeted her daughter Belle in shocking online attacks.

Speaking in a recent interview with Reveal magazine, Katie recalled how she received disgusting messages after her daughter’s birth last March.

“When Belle was born people tweeted terrible things like ‘she’s as ugly as her mum’, and I don’t want her to have that when she goes to school,” recounted Katie.

She added that since Belle arrived, she has become extremely protective when approach by members of the public.

“When strangers approach me for a picture or a chat when I’m out with her, I get nervous because of the attack. I try hard not to show it, as I don’t want Belle to be affected by my anxiety over something from the past,” said Katie.

Yesterday, Katie took to Instagram to share photos of herself in the aftermath of her acid attack, and appealed to her followers to take strength from their scars.

Katie is such an inspirational figure, and it is such a shame that a minority feel the need to send such vile messages about her little one.
