Bridget Jones is one of the most-loved female characters of all time. She’s wacky, and goofy, and her love for giant granny knickers is way more relatable than we’d like to admit.

Many women have sought comfort in Bridget, whether that was through the wonderful books by Helen Fielding, or through the movies starring Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

Most recently, we saw the hilarious heroine return to our screens in Bridget Jones’s Baby, and it’s safe to say Bridget received a warm welcome from audiences around the world.

The romantic-comedy broke movie records and became the number one film in dozens of countries, making a whopping $212 million in the box office.

Fans flocked to the cinema where they sobbed into their popcorn, laughed like crazed hyenas and rejoiced when Bridget finally got the happy ending she deserved.

However, it looks like it wasn’t an ending after all as Renee Zellweger has hinted at a fourth installment of the beloved franchise.

The actress admitted that she is feeling hopeful about Bridget’s return. The Daily Record asked the 48-year-old if there would be a fourth movie, she said: “I really hope so. I do. I love her. She's so much fun."

"I really like the place she is at in her life, but it's Bridget and there's always going to be some drama. She's so perfectly imperfect,” she added.

We would be thrilled to see Bridget return to the big screen, especially as she enters a new chapter of her life as a married mum.
