The Lee High Road in Lewisham was closed by police yesterday evening following a road traffic incident involving a car, a female pedestrian and two children.
According to reports, the three pedestrians were hit by a vehicle at approximately 5.30 pm yesterday and tended to by the public while awaiting the arrival of emergency services.
Paying tribute to the community in the wake of the incident, Lewisham Central SNT took to social media to raise awareness of the incident and extend their gratitude to all who assisted before authorities arrived.
"Massive thank you to all the members of public that helped at the RTC on Lee high road," they tweeted. "You did an amazing job helping before emergency services arrived."
Thankfully, the woman and two children did not sustain life-threatening injuries and the Lee High Road was opened again shortly before 8pm last night.
It has been established that the driver at the centre of the collision stopped at the scene, and police are now appealing to witnesses to come forward with any information they may have pertaining to the case.
