Singer/ songwriter Vanessa Carlton has welcomed a baby girl into the life she shares with husband John McCauley of the band Deer Tick, and new dad John just couldn't wait to share the amazing news with fans and followers on Instagram.
Captioning the adorable shot in which he cradles his first-born: "Sid the Kid, whoa!", there's no denying how happy the frontman is.
Eager to congratulate the new parents, Partisan Records also spread the word, tweeting: "There's a new mama and papa on the block! Huge congrats to John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton on their baby girl!!! Welcome to the family!"
34-year-old Vanessa has made no secret of the difficulties she has suffered in the past with pregnancy. Having announced the previous month that she was expecting a baby, Vanessa experienced an ectopic pregnancy in November 2013, which resulted in internal bleeding, and the young singer underwent surgery to have her right fallopian tube removed.
Thankfully, this pregnancy went well and the Thousand Miles performer stayed positive right until the final days, tweeting: "10 months pregnant. I'm officially waddling."
We're over the moon for the happy pair!
