Keeping kids entertained while they are off school for the holidays can be a bit of a nightmare. Unless you have signed them up for loads of different camps or are constantly having playdates, you will no doubt have to endure cries of "I'm bored" over and over again.

Well, unless you are a Sky customer that is.

Sky has just launched a brand new app called the Sky Kids app, which will be available to all customers on the Variety bundle. It offers a fun and safe way to enjoy the most popular kids' TV programmes including Nick Jr.’s Paw Patrol, Boomerang’s Scooby Doo, CBeebies’ Octonauts and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time

But that's not all!

The above shows will soon be joined by children’s TV legend Morph, who is set to make his debut on the app later this year in brand new exclusive episodes.

And this summer, users will be able to download shows so you can watch them on the go - perfect for those long and boring car journeys!

So what makes the Sky Kids app so good?

Well, apart from having a whole host of popular shows, the app has so many benefits:

1. It's easy to use

Children can browse their favourite characters and channels on their own.

2. It's designed for kids

The interface feels grown up for a nine-year-old but pre-schoolers will be able to use it.

3. Kids can set up individual profiles

So they can instantly find their favourite shows without any problems.

4. It's a safe place for kids

The app only contains shows suitable for children, with no adult content available.

5. You can age filter for younger kids

You can filter it so younger kids only see channels aimed at them.

6. You can set your own bedtime

Select the time you want your child to go to bed and about the Sky buddy will start yawning 15 minutes before bedtime.

“We have worked really closely with lots of children and their parents to design the new Sky Kids app. It means they can watch all their favourite shows in a really engaging way designed just for them. Safety is of fundamental importance so parents will be able to filter what their child watches according to their age," explained Lucy Murphy, Head of Kids Content, Sky.

“Having lots of great shows for kids has always really mattered to us. We know many Sky households have children so we know how important it is we give them the very best kids entertainment. That is why we are investing in exclusive new programming starting with family favourite Morph as well as developing future enhancements for the app including even more safety features, live channels and offline viewing.”

Sky Kids is available to download from both Google Play and Apple’s App Store from Thursday, 31st March 2016. The app will work on 3G/4G and Wi-Fi and is available for customers with the Sky Variety bundle or Sky Q.
