The children were split into four groups as they were working for their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
A spokesperson for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue said they were in contact with the four groups of children shortly before the first group children were found.
The Welsh Ambulance Service, Hazardous Area Response Team and the special operations response team are all now on the scene.
Western Beacons party leader, Andrew Evans said:
"It's our priority to find them and get them safe and warm. This kind of thing does happen from time to time with groups doing they're group Duke of Edinburgh - so far they all seem fine."
It is now being reported that the remaining children have been found.
