Reports have emerged that the X Factor judge’s eldest daughter, 15-year-old Phoenix Chi, ‘hates’ her stepfather.
According to court papers filed during the custody battle between Mel and Phoenix’s father, dancer Jimmy Gulzar, the teen was also left terrified of Belafonte over an incident involving a gun.
The allegations were made by Mel’s mother, Andrea, in court documents from 2009, with The Star newspaper obtaining and sharing the shocking details.
“Phoenix told me Stephen had a gun and that he had scared her with it. While at Danielle’s [Mel’s sister], Phoenix said that Stephen told her that when she was 16, he is going to throw her out of the house,” Andrea reportedly told the court.
Andrea reportedly added: “I was shocked at this time to hear Phoenix say she hated her stepfather Stephen and I dismissed this as a result of her having to share mum with him and sister Angel.”
Mel has yet to publicly address the leaked information, or the status of her relationship with Belafonte.
