Helping the homeless is tough, especially when you're just one person.

But this nine-year-old from California is determined to do her bit. When she was eight, little Khloe Thompson got upset seeing all the homeless people in her community, many of whom are women.

She asked her mum how they ended up that way, and was saddened after receiving the same answers time and again.

Instead of just feeling bad about it, Khloe decided to take action.

She approached the homeless women of her community and asked them what they needed most.

The answers were all the things the rest of us ladies need, from shampoo and soap to toothbrushes and period products.

Armed with this information, Khloe set up Khloe Kares, a charity she runs that makes and distributes ‘Kare Bags’ – hand-sewn bags filled with various essential toiletries and distributed to homeless women.

Khloe’s gran helps her sew the bags, and then she and her mum distribute them.

“The women react, like, really happy," Khloe said on talk show The Real. "And they give me hugs and say, 'thank you.'"

As if that’s not heartwarming enough, Khloe has also set up a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $10,000. Her aim? To distribute toys to children living in group homes.

Wow. What an amazingly selfless, caring little girl. We should all be a bit more like her. If you'd like to donate to help Khloe help others, click here: https://www.gofundme.com/khloekares.
