Gerard Bourne was left with no feeling in one side of his body after suffering a nasty stroke three years ago.

Naturally, this limited Gerard's (73) ability to get around and do the things he once loved - like going to the pub for a pint or two.

"The stroke pretty much disabled him overnight," son Gary (48) told The Mirror. "He loved to socialise but going to the local pub pretty much stopped overnight too, so I thought I could do to help with that."

And help he sure did - by building his dad a pub in his Manchester back garden!

The amazing creation cost just £600 (approx. €750) to build and is fitted with all the features you'd expect: bar, optics, dart boards, benches.

It even has a widescreen TV so Gerard's friends and family can pop over to watch the match at the weekends.

"The other day we had 15 people around to watch the Grand National. I’ve basically become a pub landlord and my dad’s in it so much," Gary said.

Sometimes I think I need to evict him!"

And dad Gerard couldn't be happier, describing the pub as "absolutely first class."

"I can't drink too much, but having my social life back has been so good," he said.

"The whole community comes around, it's been really enjoyable. My wife loves it too."

We don't know about you, but we reckon this is a pretty fabulous way to show your dad you love him. Look at the almighty fun they're having! We might just pub in ourselves...
