There is a heartbreaking story behind this stunning picture

 

Earlier this year, Jess and Kevin Mahoney approached a photographer with a very special request.

 

Jess, already a mother to four-year-old Corbin, was pregnant and wanted to document the wonderful experience.

Kevin explained to JoAnn Marrerro, the photographer, that Jess had endured six heartbreaking miscarriages. 

 

The goal of the photo-shoot was to give Jess pictures to treasure forever, but it was more than they ever could have hoped for. 

 

 

A rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravage of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean the storm never happened or the family is still not dealing with its aftermath. “Jess wanted something rainbow-inspired because of the many fertility struggles she and Kevin had encountered, and so I knew I had to do something extra special for her family” JoAnn told Kidspot. 

 

A rainbow baby is a term to describe a child that is born following a miscarriage. 

 

 

The rainbow is a symbol of hope and happiness after a storm of grief. 

 

JoAnn decided that using a rainbow theme would be fitting for Jess, as she had suffered so much.
