Only FIVE DAYS until Santa arrives ladies, and while he is preparing the presents and the reindeer, we must also prepare. 

 

Santa has a long journey to face next weekend, and so will need to keep his energy up throughout the night.

That is why it is tradition for families to leave some delicious snacks for the man himself, and some carrots for Rudolph and the gang.

 

We happen to know that Santa LOVES domino biscuits!

 

Try out this recipe for Mr Claus, and we guarantee he will be only delighted...

What you'll need:

 

100g butter

 

75g caster sugar

 

1 tbsp cocoa powder

 

150g plain flour

 

Pinch of salt

 

Coloured chocolate sweets

What you'll do:

 

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4.

 

Cream together the butter and sugar

 

Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder, plain flour and a pinch of salt.

 

Mix well and bring together into a dough.

 

Roll the dough into a ball and slice this in half. You can cover one half and pop it into the fridge or freezer for later use.

 

Roll out one half on a sheet of greaseproof paper, keeping a rectangular shape.

 

Using a sharp knife, trim into 3 cm strips from top to bottom.

 

Cut each strip into 6 cm long biscuits, then spread them out on the tray and score a line down the centre to resemble a domino.

 

Add coloured chocolate sweets and bake for 15 minutes.

 

Leave by the fireplace for Santa, or eat them yourself.
