Little Phoenix Parker must be one of the few kids in the world to never harass her parents for a pet.

She never had to.

That's because the five-year-old tot grew up on a rescue farm. Her parents Rachel and Dave Parker run the idyllic Greener Pastures Sanctuary for farm animals.

Located about 100km from Perth in Western Australia, the sanctuary features a huge motley crew of furry brothers and sisters for little Phoenix.

The centre, which sits on 100 acres of peaceful green pastures, is a permanent and temporary home to rescued animals, such as cattle, goats, horses, sheep, ducks, chickens and pigs.

With so many creatures to attend to, Phoenix likes to help out, and although she may be the smallest volunteer, she's arguably the most popular.

"Even at 16 months she was confident and so affectionate with them," mum Rachel told The Dodo.

"Some of our animals arrive with troubling backgrounds and aren't very fond of humans, but they always seem to be at ease with Phoenix."

While she loves all of her furry siblings, Phoenix has a soft spot for the chickens.

"She is especially fond of the feathery members of our family and wil cuddle roosters who are almost the size of her," Rachel said.

And we can see why they love her so much...

She lets them accompany her anywhere, even to dinner

...and always gives them their fair share

She's always up for a chat...

...and a spot of daytime TV

...followed by a quick siesta

And whenever they're in need of a kiss and a cuddle, Phoenix is never far away.
